Cape Clawed
This small island was once attached to the mainland before a mighty storm washed away a massive piece of land. Members of the three tribes were then trapped where they were forced to work together to build a means of travel back to the mainland. Cape Clawed now acts as a meeting place where the elders of the tribes discuss diplomatic matters.
Overview
Cape Clawed looks like it should be the first area a hunter visits upon reaching the Tribal Isles, but strangely, it’s not.
Cape Clawed has two real uses, the first is for the shops that sell a variety of items used in crafting the specialist cheese found here. The second is in hunting the three “old” mice here to gain upgrades to existing traps.
Hunting here for loot is not advised, as loot drop rates are much lower than in other areas in the Tribal Isles.
Requirements
To hunt in the Cape Clawed a Hunter must have:
A Hunter’s Title of at least
Legendary.
Have crafted the Ocean Navigation Kit.
And it is recommended that a Hunter should have:
At least a decent Physical Weapon.
At least Gouda cheese.
Hunting Tips by Larry
Congratulations on crossing the Rodentia Ocean, MouseHunter!
The Tribal Isles region is home to three tribes which have a long history of conflict. The eldest mice of each tribe now meet here in an effort to restore peace to the region.
Despite its small size, Cape Clawed has recently become quite a bustling island since its discovery by MouseHunters. A Trapsmith, Cheese Shoppe and General Store have all opened in Cape Clawed, each offering some supplies and hunting gear unique to this region. There is much for sale so pay close attention my friend!
The Trapsmith here carries quite a few shadow weapons, along with a base that is well suited for high power traps.
Visit the Cheese Shoppe and I am sure Gouda will catch your attention. It’s sharp flavour has long been a favourite of the mice indigenous to the Tribal Isles, only surpassed by SUPER|brie+. If your stocks of SUPER|brie+ are dwindling be sure to stock up on Gouda before further exploring the Tribal Isles.
Cape Clawed also has a General Store. In addition to standard cheese-making supplies like Salt, Curds and Whey, the General Store here also carries Coconut Milk, which has been found to be a vital ingredient in some local flavours of cheese. I hope you came with a good stash of gold because the General Store here also carries some mighty expensive sets of blueprint! The prints all seem to need some strange items, and one of the prints is only a tattered piece! I’m sure a hunter as skilled as yourself will be able to make heads or tails of the prints.
Phew, that was quite a lot of information if Larry does say so himself… and I do! But wait my hunter colleague, I have not even talked of what hunting there is to be done here in Cape Clawed.
The majority of mice here are rather weak and come with little reward for their capture. Cape Clawed is however a meeting spot for the tribes’ eldest mice. These elder mice are not interested in just any old cheese, and no I’m not talking about Ancient cheese! Each of the elder mice here are attracted to a very specific cheese made from ingredients closely guarded by members of their respective tribe. If you wish to hunt the elder mice you will have to travel to their respective villages to the East and confront their tribe mates in hopes of finding the elusive secret ingredient for each of their preferred types of cheese. Some of the mice here in Cape Clawed also carry these ingredients but I am certain you shall have much more success if you travel to the East.
Well, I suppose that is all the tips I have for you, MouseHunter. There is much to do here in the Tribal Isles so take your time, plan out your moves and try to ignore the menacing roar coming from that volcano!
New Mice
There are 12 new mice to be found in this location. There are three mice which are unique to this location, the Aged, Elder and Grandfather mice can only be caught with a trap of the appropriate type.

Bottomless Grave (1,500 Shadow Power) Power Type: Shadow Power Bonus: none Attraction Bonus: none Luck: 5 Cheese Effect: No Effect Although Digby drilling technology has often been regarded as the quickest to dig a grave, ambitious scientists were still tempted to experiment with rocket-propelled drills. The focus of these experiments has now turned to researching where the high speed drills have gone. Cost: 673,630 gold Refund: 121,250 gold Points Required: 728,000 |

Gorgon Trap (2,000 Shadow Power) Power Type: Shadow Power Bonus: 5% Attraction Bonus: 5% Luck: 7 Cheese Effect: Very Stale Made from the eye of the Gorgon, a hideous monster with hair made of snakes, this trap will literally scare mice stiff, turning them into living statues. Hunters with visions of figurine collections dancing in their head may be disappointed that the perfect little mouse statues only last for a few hours before they thaw out, but that’s certainly long enough to throw them into a sack and send them to a safe location. Cost: 989,000 gold Refund: 178,000 gold Points Required: 7,500,000 |

Clockapult of Time (2,275 Shadow Power) Power Type: Shadow Power Bonus: 10% Attraction Bonus: 5% Luck: 10 Cheese Effect: Extremely Fresh As a golden platform accelerates near 88 miles per hour, the hands of this spooky-looking clock begin to spin with incredible speed. With a faint flash of purple light, the mouse is sent far into the future. To an outside observer, the trap appears to trigger in the blink of an eye, but to a mouse caught within the event, the journey seems much, much longer. The clock begins to blur as the hands spin faster and faster. The clock face glows eerily as everything that was once the present blends to what was once the future. Cost: 2,700,000 gold Refund: 486,000 gold Points Required: 20,000,000 |

Tribal Base (175 Power) Power Bonus: 18% Attraction Bonus: 2% Luck: none Cheese Effect: Fresh The three rival mouse tribes of Elub, Nerg and Derr very seldom come together, but when they finally get around to negotiations after their latest skirmish, they meet on this elaborately carved tribal mask. Only the eldest of the mice from all three tribes are allowed to work on constructing the meeting place, which is hallowed by the tribes-mice due to its origins in the Jungle of Dread. How frustrating for these master crafts-rodents that the trapsmiths co-opt their art for traps! Cost: 499,600 gold Refund: 88,928 gold Points Required: 14,000,000 |

Setup Options
We currently do not have enough results for Setup Options.
Goals
Here is a selection of Goals that a hunter may like to achieve:
Catch an Aged Mouse
When hunting for the Aged mouse you will need to use your best Physical trap and Crunchy cheese.
You can expect to miss a few of this mouse, but most hunters will catch it within about 30 cheese.
Catch an Elder Mouse
When hunting for the Elder mouse you will need to use your best Hydro trap and Shell cheese.
You can expect to miss a few of this mouse, but most hunters will catch it within about 30 cheese.
Catch a Grandfather Mouse
When hunting for the Grandfather mouse you will need to use your best Tactical trap and Gumbo cheese.
You can expect to miss a few of this mouse, but most hunters will catch it within about 30 cheese.
Should you hunt for loot here?
Some hunters consider hunting for the Delicious Stone, Savoury vegetable and Seashell loot in Cape Clawed, instead of going to the Derr Dunes, Nerg Plains or Elub Shore.
Normally this is a bad idea, loot dropping mice are encountered less frequently in Cape Clawed than in the other three areas, and the mice that are encountered in Cape Clawed drop loot less frequently.
However, if you do not have the appropriate power type of trap, this may be an alternative for you, as most of the mice here can be caught with physical traps.
Generally though, it is worth moving to the Derr Dunes to earn the gold to buy a trap of the power type you need.

Under Grandfather mouse you wrote Aged mouse, correction.
Thanks for spotting that, it’s been corrected now.
What a mistake
You wanna try hosting a whole website on a game? I believe these guys deserve a lil’ more respect for the time and dedication that they put in for hunters like you.
The rhino horn is no longer limited to 1 now that 3 are needed for the Enraged Rhinobot.
Are there any stats on mouse-specific attraction rates using different baits? It would be of particular use to have such rates for Gumbo, Crunchy, and Shell for hunting the elders.
It’s on my to do list.
nice post ! i love cape clawed
It says that the maximum amount of rhino horns you can get is 1. Is this a mistake because the enraged rhinobot needs 3 rhino horns?
I now have 5 rhino horns and it says it is maxed and the Aged mice are not dropping them any more. So could you indicate that the maximum amount of rhino horns you can get is 5?
should we buy any of the shadow weapons, and if yes, which?
