Overview

The Training Grounds is the first location in the Furoma region, and has a number of new mice that the hunter has not encountered before.

One of those new mice in this location may well drop the ticket to the Bazaar. A hunter will have to travel there to get their map repaired at the Cartographer in order to travel further into Furoma.

The Training Grounds also offers a few supplies that are required for creating the specialist cheese needed later in this region, as well as some items useful for crafting a number of traps.

Requirements

To hunt in the Training Grounds a Hunter must have:
    A Hunter’s Title of at least Grandmaster.
    Shredded Furoma Map Piece, obtained from a Lycan Mouse in the Mousoleum, or a Mole Mouse in the Town of Digby.
And it is recommended that a Hunter should have:
    A Tactical Trap, or strong Physical Trap.
    At least Swiss Cheese.

Ah, so you’ve found your way to Furoma!

It seems some merchants from far-off lands are setting up shop just south, in the Burroughs region. To gain access to their market, you’ll need to find a ticket. One of the mice here is sure to be carrying one…

There are 6 new mice in the Training Grounds that a hunter won’t have encountered before, most of these new mice are also encountered in the Dojo, however the Dumpling Chef is only encountered in this location.

The Training Grounds contains 3 shops: a Cheese Shoppe, a Trapsmith and a General Store.

Cheese Shoppe

The Cheese Shoppe of the Training Grounds offers a small selection of cheese at prices 50% higher than those found elsewhere.

The Trapsmith of the Training Grounds contains a very small selection of one tactical weapon and two bases.

The General Store of the Training Grounds contains some supplies for crafting cheese, as well as items for crafting a number of traps.

Catch a Mouse with Bazaar Map

This is probably one of the easiest map pieces to collect in the whole game, it is dropped by three different mice, one of which is very common.

Whilst it is easiest to collect using a tactical trap, a physical one will be able to collect it without waiting too long.

Catch a Monk Mouse with Plankrun’s Journal

This used to be a difficult goal to achieve, it has now been made irrelevant.

You should spend no extra time attempting to collect these journal pages as they are now available from student mice in the Dojo, which are much more common.

Overview

The Pinnacle Chamber is the final location in the Furoma region and is home to the two most powerful mice found here (as well as one of the weakest).

Hunters will want to have their best Tactical trap armed and use either Rumble cheese to attract the Master of the Dojo and collect his Onyx Stones, or Onyx Gorgonzola cheese and face off against the Dojo Sensei mouse.

For those hunters wishing to craft the Ambush trap, but without the blueprints, regular cheese such as Swiss can be used here to attract a Hapless mouse that may be carrying them.

Requirements

To hunt in the Pinnacle Chamber a Hunter must have:
    A Hunter’s Title of at least Grandmaster.
    Furoma Map Stitch, obtained from the Cartographer in the Bazaar.
And it is recommended that a Hunter should have:
    At least an Ambush or stronger Tactical trap.
    Rumble or Onyx Gorgonzola Cheese.

Oh, I do not envy you now, MouseHunter! You are in the great Pinnacle Chamber where the powerful Master of the Dojo resides!

There are also rumors of another mouse, as old as the Dojo itself, who may frequent this chamber. Onyx Marbled Gorgonzola, the most hallowed of Furoma cheeses, may draw it out of hiding. The cheese has been successfully mixed from Onyx Stone, Curds and Whey and Ionized Salt, but my sources tell me that the process is highly unstable. Craft this cheese at your own risk!

Goals

Here is a selection of Goals that a hunter may like to achieve:

Catch the Master of the Dojo Mouse

The Master of the Dojo can only be attracted with Rumble cheese, and the best trap to use is a Tactical trap. Even so, you’re unlikely to catch more than one out of every three of these mice you attract. Stock up on plenty of Rumble before you go in, arm your best Tactical trap, and you shouldn’t be disappointed.

You might have thought that Furoma was a pretty bad location for gold while you were in the Dojo. Now is the time to make up for that.

Take a look at the above results for Rumble, they show 8-9,000 gold per hunt! You’re not going to see those returns anywhere else in the game at the moment.

While weaker tactical traps can’t match the results for the 2010 Blastoff Trap, they can still provide very respectable amounts of gold.

Catch the Dojo Sensei Mouse

The Dojo Sensei is currently the most powerful mouse in the game. This mouse is only attracted to Onyx Gorgonzola cheese, and even armed the best Tactical traps in the game a hunter would be lucky to catch more than one out of every eight of these mice attracted.

Hunters should also be prepared to actually lose points while hunting this mouse.

Catch a Hapless Mouse with the Ambush Blueprints

If you haven’t caught an Assassin, Worker or Hapless mouse with the Ambush Blueprints while hunting elsewhere in Furoma, you have one other option open to you.

Arming a regular cheese such as Swiss in the Pinnacle Chamber will only attract Hapless mice.

These mice are easy to catch, but even the best cheese has a low attraction rate. Worse still, most of these mice won’t drop the blueprints.

Arm a Tactical trap with a good freshness rating, and be prepared to wait it out.

Overview

The Dojo is the home to the Students of Furoma, mice that the hunter will want to catch in order to collect their Tokens which can be used to attract their respective masters.

A good tactical trap is recommended in the Dojo, and if you have that, then the Dojo offers one of the best locations in the game for increasing your rank for quite some time.

Sometimes Assassin mice found stalking the Dojo will drop the blueprints to the Ambush trap, a powerful Tactical trap.

Requirements

To hunt in the Dojo a Hunter must have:
    A Hunter’s Title of at least Grandmaster.
    Furoma Map Stitch, obtained from the Cartographer in the Bazaar.
And it is recommended that a Hunter should have:
    A Tactical Trap.
    At least Brie Cheese.

Welcome to the Dojo, where students of the three Furoma schools train. Catch one of these students, and there is a very good chance they will drop one of their school’s tokens, which are vital in the creation of three very special forms of cheese. Read the descriptions of the tokens you collect for cheese-crafting clues. There are also rumors that one of Plankrun’s Journal Pages can be found in the Dojo, which may hold some interesting information about cheese recipes.

Once you’ve collected tokens and made new types of cheese, you’ll want to head to the Meditation Room where you can hunt the masters. I have a suspicion that the incredibly dangerous Assassin mice may be in the Dojo on a hunting mission of their own. Catching one these mice may reveal clues on better ways to combat the forces of Furoma.

Maki is definately the best cheese to use for attracting students. Despite a lower attraction rate than Super Brie, Maki attracts many more students.

Brie is a good all round cheese, although Swiss is a viable alternative for the hunter on a budget.

Goals

Catch Student Mice

Student mice are the main goal of the Dojo, since they drop Tokens used to make the cheese required for the Meditation Room.

For most hunters Brie will suffice as a cheese that will attract a decent number of Students. Hunters wanting to attract more Students can use Maki cheese, but shouldn’t expect to make a profit considering the price of Super Brie on the markets.

Arming a high luck or high power tactical trap will allow a hunter to catch more of the Students encountered. In fact, a hunter can take a significant drop in power in exchange for more luck. The Snow Barrage (a limited edition trap) has shown itself to be the best performing trap in the Dojo, despite much lower power than other traps.

Overview

The Meditation Room is home to the three masters of the various schools of Furoma, along with their poor servants, the Hapless mouse.

Hunters should use one of three special types of cheese to attract the masters here, and collect shards from the masters. These shards can either be used for creating a new powerful Tactical trap, or for creating a special cheese to be used in the Pinnacle Chamber.

Strong Tactical traps are highly recommended.

Requirements

To hunt in the Mediatioan Room a Hunter must have:
    A Hunter’s Title of at least Grandmaster.
    Furoma Map Stitch, obtained from the Cartographer in the Bazaar.
And it is recommended that a Hunter should have:
    A Tactical Trap.
    Combat, Glutter or Susheese Cheese.

Shhh! Can’t you see I’m trying to meditate?

The three schools were once united under a single seal that represented the teachings of Furoma. Over time, the three schools drifted apart, until eventually they shattered the seal into three shards to represent their distinct styles. Should you be able to collect these shards, you will find them very useful in your crafting.
