Overview

The King’s Arms is the location to visit when you are looking to spend some of your King’s Credits.

Hunting in this location is only recommended for newer hunters looking for a change in the mice they normally see. Several of the mice here are quite tough for newer hunters though.

Requirements

To hunt in the King’s Arms a Hunter must have:
    A Hunter’s Title of at least Recruit.
And it is recommended that a Hunter should have:
    Any cheese.
    Any Weapon.

This royal location is home to many shoppes where you can exchange King’s Credits for hunting equipment and loot. Take your time, browse the shops and pick out something nice!

The King’s Arms contains 2 shops: a Trapsmith and a General Store.

Trapsmith

The Trapsmith of the King’s Arms contains only one weapon, the Shrink Ray Trap.

The General Store of the King’s Arms contains a number of items that can normally only be obtained through collecting loot or receiving gifts, this makes it a very useful place to visit if you wish to stock up for a specific task.

	Pinch of Annoyance This powder is the distilled essence of the Elub Elders’ irritation at being cooped up in Balack’s Cove. Don’t let it get on your skin– you’ll itch for weeks. Cost: 6 King’s Credits
	Raisins of Wrath These raisins probably started out as grapes of wrath, but they’ve been sitting out for far too long. The drying process has only concentrated the wrath, so use them sparingly in any evil banana breads or nasty oatmeal cookies you may be planning. Wrath Raisins are best known as an ingredient in Vengeful Vanilla Stilton. Cost: 6 King’s Credits
	Bottled-Up Rage This potion contains all of the hatred and loathing generated by the ensorcelled Derr Elders over their long servitude to Balack the Banished. It is so angry, it pounds the cork in its bottle, trying to escape. Cost: 6 King’s Credits
	Grungy DeathBot Blueprint The Deathbot, painted up for our loyal hunters, gives you that gritty, post-apocalyptic feeling while hunting, without leaving the comfort of your own dimension. 	Crate of Delicious Stones Contains 10 Delicious Stones. These tasty small rocks are collected by members of the Derr tribe within the dunes of Tribal Isle and are used to create Crunchy cheese. Cost: 3 King’s Credits
	Crate of Vanilla Beans Contains 15 Vanilla Beans. These rare beans are only available deep within the Jungle of Dread, but their rind imparts a pleasant, sweet flavor to food. As a result, it is one of Gnawnia’s most expensive delicacies and is used in the creation of both Vanilla and Vengeful Vanilla Stilton. Cost: 4 King’s Credits
	SUPER|brie+ Supply Pack A supply package containing 10 SUPER|brie+ and provides the Lucky Golden Shield for 3 days when opened. Cost: 30 King’s Credits

Purchase the Shrink Ray Trap

If you’re just starting out and are lucky enough to have 45 King’s Credits (can be obtained from daily rewards) then the Shrink Ray Trap is a good purchase for you.

The next trap that you can purchase as an improvement on this one would be the Swiss Army Mouse Trap, but even that might not be worth purchasing as you can use the Shrink Ray Trap until you’re ready to upgrade to the NVMRC Force Field Trap.

Use King’s Credits

The main purpose of this location is to give you a place to spend your King’s Credits. There’s a variety of items you can purchase here to save you time collecting them in other locations.

Take a moment to plan before you make any purchases though, you won’t get too many King’s Credits, so you will want to make the best use of them. For example, when hunting in Furoma many people find that they end up with one Student they have difficulty attracting and/or catching. So hunt for a while in Furoma first, find out which student tokens you’re short on then return here to purchase a crate of that one type.

Overview

Tier 8 of the King’s Gauntlet – known only as the Eclipse – is a location where a forgotten weapon will be very useful.

This is the final floor of the King’s Gauntlet, with only one mouse to encounter here, your only challenge will be catching it.

Requirements

To hunt in the King’s Gauntlet – Tier 8 a Hunter must have:
    A Hunter’s Title of at least Initiate.
    Have purchased the King’s Gauntlet Floorplan from the Cartographer in the Harbour.
    Gauntlet Cheese Tier 8.
And it is recommended that a Hunter should have:
    A Forgotten weapon.

New Mice

There is only one new mouse to be found in this location – the Eclipse Mouse. This mouse can only be attracted by Gauntlet Cheese Tier 8.

Catch the Eclipse Mouse

Tier 8 of the King’s Gauntlet is home to the final mouse in this location – the powerful Eclipse Mouse.

The Eclipse Mouse is weakest against forgotten weapons, such as the Ancient Box trap, hunters are advised to pair this with a lucky base.

Despite its power, the Eclipse is very easy to catch with the right setup, high power bases such as the Tribal Base have been known to miss this mouse, so high luck bases are recommended.

This mouse drops some very nice rewards in terms of points and gold.

Collecting Gauntlet Potions Tier 7

Tier 6 of the King’s Gauntlet is also known as the “Noble floor” and is home to the mice who drop Gauntlet Potions Tier 7 required to progress through this location.

The mice found on Tier 6 are weaker against arcane traps, but can be quite tough against traps of other power types.

As there are only three Arcane traps it is obvious that the Arcane Capturing Rod of Never Yielding Mystery is the best trap to use.

Hunter who only have an Obelisk (either of Slumber or Incineration), are recommended to invest the time to craft the ACRoNYM before hunting on this tier.

This just leaves the hunter with the choice of which base to use. For this location a base with a high luck should provide the best results, high power is a secondary consideration. Attraction Bonus and fresheness of bases will not have much effect in this location.

Unfortunately there are no high luck Shadow traps, so simply arm your best Shadow Weapon. Your choice of base might be important here, as the base could provide a boost to your luck, and subsequently potion drops.

The mice here are more powerful than those on previous tiers, hunters should consider having a more powerful tactical weapon than just the Venus Mouse Trap.

To hunt in the King’s Gauntlet – Tier 4 a Hunter must have:
    A Hunter’s Title of at least Initiate.
    Have purchased the King’s Gauntlet Floorplan from the Cartographer in the Harbour.
    Gauntlet Cheese Tier 4.
And it is recommended that a Hunter should have:
    A decent Tactical Weapon.

Arming a high luck tactical trap will help to increase your drop rates slightly. Due to the power of these mice, higher luck tactical traps will generally perform better than higher power tactical traps in terms of catching mice.

Tier 3 of the King’s Gauntlet – also know as the melee floor – is a location where a tactical weapon will be very useful.

The mice here are more powerful than those on previous tiers, yet should not pose a real problem to any well-equipped hunter.

Requirements

To hunt in the King’s Gauntlet – Tier 3 a Hunter must have:
    A Hunter’s Title of at least Initiate.
    Purchased the King’s Gauntlet Floorplan from the Cartographer in the Harbour.
    Gauntlet Cheese Tier 3.
And it is recommended that a Hunter should have:
    A Tactical Weapon.

Collecting Gauntlet Potions Tier 4

Tier 3 of the King’s Gauntlet is also known as the “melee floor” and is home to the mice who drop Gauntlet Potions Tier 4 required to progress through this location.
The mice found on Tier 3 are weak against tactical traps, and catching them is relatively easy with any tactical trap.
Arming a high luck trap will help to increase your drop rates slightly. Due to the lower power of these mice, high luck tactical traps may also improve catch rates – this could have a double effect on improving loot drops.

Overview

Tier 2 of the King’s Gauntlet – also know as the thief floor – is only a little more difficult than the first tier.

The mice are slightly more powerful, yet should not pose a real problem to any but the unluckiest of hunters.

Requirements

To hunt in the King’s Gauntlet – Tier 2 a Hunter must have:
    A Hunter’s Title of at least Initiate.
    Have purchased the King’s Gauntlet Floorplan from the Cartographer in the Harbour.
    Gauntlet Cheese Tier 2.
And it is recommended that a Hunter should have:
    A Physical Weapon.

The mice found on Teir 2 are still quite weak and susceptible to physical traps, which makes catching them relatively easy. However, they appear to be a lot more reluctant to drop potions than their cousins on Tier 1.
Arming a high luck trap will help to increase your drop rates slightly.

Overview

The first tier of the King’s Gauntlet is also the easiest. With six mice that are all quite weak even Initiate hunters should have no trouble here.

Most traps you possess at this stage will work well, and most cheese can be used.

Unfortunately, in reflection of the ease of this tier of the Gauntlet, the rewards to be found here are quite small.

Hunters are advised to arm their luckiest trap in order to collect potions quickly and move on to the second tier.

Requirements

To hunt in the King’s Gauntlet – Tier 1 a Hunter must have:
    A Hunter’s Title of at least Initiate.
    Have purchased the King’s Gauntlet Floorplan from the Cartographer in the Harbour.
And it is recommended that a Hunter should have:

When hunting on Tier 1, most cheese will suffice.

Marble is probably the most economical to use.

Swiss will result in higher attraction rates and you should be able to catch most mice that you attract.

Brie will attract more mice, but you are likely to lose gold hunting with it.

To progress to the next tier of the King’s Gauntlet a hunter will need to collect Gauntlet Potions Tier 2.

Fortunately, they are dropped by the most commonly encountered mice, and relatively frequently too.

The mice on Tier 1 are relatively weak and susceptible to physical traps. They shouldn’t pose a challenge to most hunters.

Arming a high luck trap will help to increase your drop rates slightly.

Overview

The King’s Gauntlet is a unique location that offers a challenge to hunters of most ranks.

Upon entering the Gauntlet, a hunter may use nearly any cheese to hunt with.

Purchased cheese such as Marble and Swiss work well here, and will attract the mice of Tier 1.

These mice drop a potion that can be used to imbue a new cheese, called Gauntlet Cheese Tier 2.

Arming Gauntlet Cheese Tier 2 will allow a hunter to attract the mice of Tier 2.

The process then repeats itself, with each tier of mice dropping loot to allow you to hunt on the next tier until you reach the final tier.

We have divided this article into 9 parts, this overview article and one additional article on each tier.

Each tier is said to bring different challenges, which means a hunter may need to collect weapons of different power types in order to be able to hunt effectively on each tier.

The King’s Gauntlet contains two shops: a Cheese Shoppe and a Trapsmith.

Cheese Shoppe

The Cheese Shoppe of the King’s Gauntlet offers two varieties of cheese. With prices the same as those found in the Town of Gnawnia, this saves a hunter needing to travel to restock their cheese.

	Swiss Cheese Swiss offers a good chance of attracting a variety of mice. Cost: 100 gold Refund: 100 gold
	Brie Cheese Brie offers a very good chance of attracting a variety of mice. Cost: 200 gold Refund: 200 gold

Trapsmith

The Trapsmith of the King’s Gauntlet contains a selection of physical weapons and bases that should help you against most of the mice found here.

This super-charged, rocket-powered version of a guillotine is the perfect way to hold all those criminal mice accountable for stealing your precious cheese.
