Crystal Library

A magical barrier originally protected this library from mouse invasion until recently. Bands of magic and mechanical mice have circumvented the library’s security measures in an effort to destroy the research Zugzwang once worked so hard to document.

Overview

The Crystal Library is a location where hunters collect assignments to complete in order to earn Library Points and other rewards. Some of these assignments require hunters to travel to other locations in order to complete them, adding more variety to normal hunting.

Requirements

To hunt in the Crystal Library a Hunter must have:
    A Hunter’s Title of at least Lord / Lady.
    Crystal Library Card, obtained from a Rook or Queen in Zugzwang’s Tower.
    A Physical or Tactical weapon.
And it is recommended that a Hunter should have:
    A good Physical and Tactical Weapon.
    Any regular cheese.

Larry The Crystal Library is an ancient trove of knowledge passed down through generations of only the most honored and powerful wizards; it was last under the care of Zugzwang before he vanished.

In the absence of Zugzwang a powerful mouse known as Zurreal the Eternal has managed to infiltrate the library’s defences where he has unleashed an army of mechanical and magical mice to destroy the knowledge the library holds.

Your task is to defend the library and conduct research to rebuild the knowledge that has been lost. To start your research, pick an envelope to receive an assignment. Each individual envelope may contain one of many similarly-themed assignments.

Completing assignments will earn you rewards related to where your assignment took you as well as Library Points to show you’re ready to start more varied and challenging assignments!

Your research will no doubt take you far and wide and test your knowledge of hunting! With enough knowledge you may even be able to discover how to find the elusive Zurreal…

Research Assignments

This location allows hunters to undertake Research Assignments. A Research Assignment can be chosen by clicking on the icon in the HUD.

As you complete assignments you will earn Library Points (and other rewards such as new charms) that will enable you to take on more challenging assignments.

Assignments have objectives that generally involve catching a number of mice in a specific location and / or with a specific type of weapon.

The contents of assignments are sometimes randomised, so you may select the same assignment twice but get slightly different objectives.

Catalog Library Mice

This envelope contains a basic research assignment that will have you capture various library mice in order to catalog them.

This is the first assignment that you must undertake in this location, and fortunately it’s relatively simple. You can complete this task with either a Physical or a Tactical weapon, although Tactical weapons tend to be better.

This envelope contains one of many assignments that will test your knowledge of hunting within the Crystal Library.

This assignment requires you to catch 6 mice. The mice required can vary, and some variants of this assignment require you to catch the mice with specific weapons.

Furoma Research

This envelope contains one of many assignments that will have you follow in Zugzwang’s footsteps and recover the lost knowledge of Furoma. Completing Furoma Research assignments will earn you various supplies to help you better hunt in the Pagoda there. Be warned: Some of these assignments will be a challenge for hunters who have yet to capture all the mice and find all the loot there is to find in Furoma.

Advanced Zugzwang Research

This envelope contains one of many assignments that will push your knowledge of the Seasonal Garden and Zugzwang’s Tower to absolute maximum! Be warned: You may require advanced equipment to complete this research.

Zurreal Research

A vital section of the Library has been destroyed containing information about Zurreal the Eternal. Once the library has been repaired the King will allow hunters to start this research.
