Elub Shore
The shores of the great Tribal Island is where the Elub Tribe call home. The Elub utilize the resources of the ocean to build tools and shelter. Use of a Hydro trap is highly recommended while hunting for the Elub.
The Elub Shore is the Hydro area of the Tribal Isles, it offers good points but little gold, a great place to increase your Hunter’s Title, but with limited choice of traps to use.
In this article we present you with some of the results from our survey, as well as some theories and strategies to help you hunt in this location.
Cheese & Mice
Here is a breakdown of the base attraction rates and mouse populations seen with various cheese.
| Gouda | Shell | Super Brie | |
| Alchemist | 8.16% | 7.75% | |
| Alnitak | 15.79% | 16.02% | |
| Black Widow | 0.12% | 0.15% | 0.21% |
| Champion | 30.35% | ||
| Elub Chieftain | 7.33% | ||
| Mystic | 16.29% | 16.33% | |
| Pack | 11.80% | 11.41% | |
| Protector | 62.17% | ||
| Scout | 7.79% | 8.03% | |
| Soothsayer | 16.02% | 16.02% | |
| Taleweaver | 8.11% | 8.71% | |
| Vanquisher | 15.93% | 15.51% | |
| Hunts Submitted | 36,129 | 13,005 | 7,689 |
| Base Attraction Rate | 79.36% | 98.78% | 99.09% |
Shell is the only cheese to use when going after the “Big Three” in Elub, but we can see from the populations of the other mice that there doesn’t seem to be a preference for any of the other cheese, as such, your only choice for cheese will be balancing cost with attraction rates.
Gouda has a base attraction rate of about 80% in the Elub Shore, lower gold returns in comparison to other Tribal locations mean that while you will be making a profit, it won’t be a significant profit.
Super Brie boasts an impressive 99% attraction rate, allowing hunters to focus on the much needed power and luck of their trap without suffering any significant drawbacks.
General Strategies
All of the mice in the Elub Shore are Hydro mice, and only Hydro traps will give good results in this location.
Physical and Tactical Weapons types are completely ineffective against most of the mice, and are only of normal effectiveness against the Alchemist, Black Widow, Scout and Taleweaver mice, so are not recommended.
Hydro Weapon types are very effective against all of the mice, and are highly recommended.
Arcane and Shadow Weapon types are completely ineffective against most of the mice, and are only of normal effectiveness against the Black Widow, so are not recommended.
Draconic and Forgotten Weapon types are completely ineffective against all of the mice.
Normal Setup Options
We do not currently have enough hunts received to include these setups, please continue to submit to the survey so we can add them at a later date.
Limited Edition Setup Options
All cheese costs have been removed from these figures, and only show earnings after the cheese has been purchased for ease of comparison.

Goals
Seashells are required to make Shell Cheese, which is used to attract the Elder Mouse in Cape Clawed, and three mice in Elub Shore, the Elub Chieftain Mouse, Champion Mouse and Protector Mouse.
Seashells are dropped as loot by the Alchemist Mouse, Alnitak Mouse, Mystic Mouse (up to 2), Pack Mouse (up to 3), Scout Mouse, Soothsayer Mouse, Taleweaver Mouse and Vanquisher Mouse, each mouse only drops up to 1 Seashell with the two exceptions mentioned above.
The weaker the mouse is, the less likely they are to drop Seashells, with the Vanquisher Mouse dropping 1 Seashell in almost all cases.
Blue Pepper Seeds are required to make a number of the Havarti Cheese used in the Jungle of Dread and Dracano, they are only dropped by the three mice in Elub Shore that can only be attracted with Shell Cheese.
Blue Pepper Seeds are dropped as loot by the Elub Chieftain Mouse (up to 3), Champion Mouse (up to 2) and Protector Mouse (up to 1).
As with Seashells, the weakest mouse (the Protector) is the least likely to drop Blue Pepper Seeds, while the Elub Chieftain almost always drops at least 1 Blue Pepper Seed.
High power and high luck Hydro traps are highly recommended when hunting these three mice.
The Elub Chieftain Mouse drops the Ancient Frayed Blueprint Piece, which is used for crafting the Ancient Box Trap.
The Elub Chieftain Mouse is only attracted to Shell Cheese, is not commonly encountered and is the most powerful mouse in the location, fortunately it will drop the Blueprints in most cases (unless you already have them in your inventory), so it is an unlucky hunter who has to catch more than two before receiving this loot.
High power and high luck Hydro traps are highly recommended.
Thank you to all who have contributed so far and will do so in the future.

another great work…thanx to all who coop…hope u do the same for jungle of dread…
I always said the Kraken was better. great article.
I love this layout!
Fab, thanks so much for these!! You guys do such great work. I was already (pace some previous remarks) convinced about the Chillbot vs Rhinobot (and also of the virtues of the 2010), but will leave the ASG in the cupboard from now on, too!
This new layout is also much easier to read than the previous ones!
Oh goddess, this format is much nicer
no offense, but the previous format kinda feels like I’m riding out a storm in a dingy
Thanks again so much for the stats Paul! This format is great, would be very nice indeed if the Derr and Nerg articles can be changed to this.
Looking forward to the JoD and Dracano articles. Any plans to do one for Furoma and Bristle Woods? (Now I’m just getting greedy :P)
I’ve now updated the format on the other two articles, hopefully no more sea sickness for Peter! ;)
@Zhihong
I’m just waiting for some more results to come in for those two locations, as we don’t have a lot of setups for comparisons, and certain Havartis seem to be really unpopular.
The long term goal is to have articles on each location, as these have been the most popular locations recently, they’ve been the easiest to do.
What about ASG and tribal?
I wish there could be comparisons for net cannon and harpoon gun too
We only add in setups once we get a minimum of 1,000 hunts for that setup, if you’re really keen to see a certain setup, it might be worth going onto the MouseHunt forums and encouraging people using that setup to submit their results to the survey.
Here are some setups that were close to the 1,000 number as at 04-Feb-10, so will hopefully be ready for an update next week.
ASG / Tribal / Gouda / Shield
Net / Magma / Gouda / Shield
YAY, finally know that Kraken is btr than ASG, thanks very much
Erm, the ASG/Aqua base should be in Normal setups instead
Hi, first posting here.
Will really appreciate if there will be articles comparing Harpoon Gun and Net Cannon, just like the one OoS vs OoI.
It really may not need 1,000 hunts for the same setup, just an indication on how does they compare to each other and which is better to purchase (even though the recrafting option is rather easy).
Thanks!
> Kraken Chaos Magma Yes 80.04% 84.16%
Is possible 80% attraction and catch rate 84% ?
Hey Paul, if I analysed the catch rate of HG/Magma/Gouda/Shield and NC/Magma/Gouda/Shield in excel file, how do I pass it to you or something?
Btw, Net Cannon/Magma/Shield is way better than HG/Magma/Shield
Sauro, it means that the attraction rate is 80% and if the cheese do attract mouse, it has 84% catch rate, the two percentages are independent of each other.
