Overview

The Festive Comet is a special event location tha all but the newest of hunters should be able to access.

The Festive Comet is the heart of the Great Winter Hunt 2010 event, with different parts of the event being released as time goes on.

Part 1 – The Festive Comet Has Landed! 24th November to 29th November

The first part of the Great Winter Hunt 2010 sees the return of the Festive Comet to Gnawnia. With it came a new location to hunt in and Elf mice carrying gift boxes as loot.

At this stage the only goal is to collect Elf mice and get the Gift Boxes. The Gift Boxes are coloured according to your rank so that they drop an appropriate types of loot for you to use.

Don’t think it’s not worth hunting for just a few Elf mice, the Gift Boxes contain quite a variety of useful items, and they also have King’s Credits! Don’t miss a good opportunity to stock up on these.

Part 2 – Great Winter Star Ceremony 29th November to 6th January

The Great Winter Star Ceremony was sabotaged by troublesome mice lead by a new villain! (For hunters who were at the event last year, check out the change in your Egg Nog)

The Winter Star has been stolen and it’s time to claim it back. New mice will be released into this on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

On Tuesdays new items will be added to the Festive Gift Shoppe and on Thursdays extra Elf mice can be found.

These newer event mice will occassionally drop a special cheese that can be used to attract the “boss” mouse (or mice) for the event.

Keep using the same type of traps as before, and if you get very lucky you may catch an event mouse with some loot.

29th November – Toy mouse released.
1st December – Candy Cane mouse released.
3rd December – Present mouse released.
6th December – Christmas Tree mouse released.
8th December – Ornament mouse released.
10th December – Nutcracker mouse released.
13th December – Stocking mouse released.
15th December – Scrooge mouse released.
17th December – Missile Toe mouse released.
20th December – Wreath Thief mouse released.
22nd December – Snow Fort mouse released.
23rd December – Slay Ride mouse released.
23rd December – Squeaker Claws mouse released.

Part 3 – New Mice Invade the Comet! 15th December to 6th January

New stronger mice have entered the comet, these mice can only be attracted with a special cheese (so don’t worry if you’re a newer hunter).

The Steel mice are dropping potions to brew this cheese, and using it attracts strong mice that drop new types of loot.

Make sure you have a strong Physical trap before attempting to catch these mice!

Requirements

To hunt in the Festive Comet a Hunter must have:
A Hunter’s Title of at least Recruit.
And it is recommended that a Hunter should have:
Any trap, preferably Tactical or Physical
At least Marble cheese, preferably Super Brie or Gingerbread.

Hunting Tips by Larry

Welcome to the Festive Comet, MouseHunter!

This massive snowy comet smashed into Gnawnia resulting in an explosion of candy canes and snow! It’s arrival in Gnawnia marks the beginning of the Great Winter Hunt!

Some pesky Elf mice have ran off with presents. If you catch an Elf mouse you’ll find a gift specially wrapped depending on your Hunter’s Title. Many of the gifts contain a little cheese to help you in your hunting, but occasionally you may just find something a little more special. To attract Elf mice more often, I suggest using SUPER|brie+ or Gingerbread Cheese as bait.

During the lighting of the Great Winter Tree, barrels of egg nog suddently exploded and the mice used the distraction to steal the star from the top of the tree! The mice have a schedule for their devious plot, and the bosses will only reveal themselves if the minions fail. Click the calandar icon on your heads-up display to see when each mouse is being released.

Don’t forget your mittens and toque! Happy holiday hunting!

Mice Populations

We currently do not have enough results for Mice Populations.

While most regular cheese can be used in the Festive Comet, Gingerbread and Super Brie work best to attract the Elf mouse.

Seasoned Gouda should be used to attract the strongest mice in this location.

Goals

Here is a selection of Goals that a hunter may like to achieve:

Catch Elf Mice

Elf mice are dropping Winter Hunt Gift Boxes, which contain various useful items for hunters. The colour of the gift box is determined by your Title.

Recruit to Grand Master can get Blue Winter Hunt Gift Boxes.

Legendary to Knight can get Green Winter Hunt Gift Boxes.

Lord/Lady and above can get Red Winter Hunt Gift Boxes.

Elf mice are relatively easy to catch, so arm a trap of your choice to hunt for them. Most power types are of equal effectiveness against them, so your choice should be based upon which is your best trap, or which of the other mice you want to catch.

Currently Tactical and Physical traps are the best choice to use.

Don’t forget to use Gingerbread or Super Brie to increase your chances of attracting an Elf mouse.

Collect Frozen Fromage

Frozen Fromage is a special loot dropped by some of the event mice in this location.

It is only dropped very rarely, but don’t worry, there’s plenty of time to collect some before the end of the event.

At first you will not be able to use your Frozen Fromage, you will need to wait until later in the event.

Event mice are generally quite weak and most power types are equally effective against them, so all that is required is patience.

Using Seasoned Gouda

To use Seasoned Gouda first you must collect potions from the Steel Mouse in this location. This is quite easy to do as Steel mice are relatively common and easy to catch.

Once you have the potions you can brew them using Super Brie, Gouda or Gingerbread cheese to make Seasoned Gouda.

Be warned, before you arm Seasoned Gouda make sure you have a strong physical trap, as the mice it attracts can be quite powerful.

If you’re able to catch these mice, you’ll collect some new loot from them, this may be used to craft an upgrade to the Explosive Toboggan Ride, but we haven’t had that confirmed yet.
