Fiery Warpath
The Marching Flame has attacked and pillaged much of the Sandtail Desert and now their warpath is headed towards Gnawnia! Their battalions attack in waves and seem to endlessly march over the horizon. All that stands between them and conquering Gnawnia are the brave hunters who camp here.
Overview
There are four waves of progressively harder mice in the Fiery Warpath, you will need to catch a certain number of these mice before you will be able to progress from one wave to the next.
There are a number of special charms available that can be used to help you catch streaks of these mice and reduce the number of mice you need to catch.
While more passive players will want to arm a physical trap and slowly catch all the mice here, more active players have a number of tactics available to them that can reduce the time spent hunting on each wave.
The rewards for completing this location are three high level traps that outclass anything previously available.
Requirements
To hunt in the Fiery Warpath a Hunter must have:
A Hunter’s Title of at least
Baron / Baroness.
Sandtail Call to Arms from a mouse in the Seasonal Garden, which can only be obtained if you also have:
Caught a Silth Mouse from the Lagoon
Caught a Mystic King from Zugzwang’s Tower
Caught a Technic King from Zugzwang’s Tower
And it is recommended that a Hunter should have:
A selection of weapons, including good Arcane, Draconic, Hydro, Physical and Tactical weapons.
Any cheese.
Hunting Tips by Larry
The Marching Flame are preparing to invade Gnawnia. Their Fiery Warpath to the castle has reached a standoff in the Sandtail Desert where you must hold them back at all costs! These mice are highly organized, you must defeat each wave before progressing to the next.
Capturing the same type of mouse multiple times in a row will demoralize the troops, causing that type to regroup off the battlefield. The higher your streak, the more will retreat. Capturing a Crimson Commander while having a high streak will cause even more to retreat as they carry the commands throughout the battalion.
The King has stocked a Charm Shoppe that will help you achieve these high streaks and outmaneuver your enemy. The Marching Flame is equally prepared, though. Failing to capture Caravan Guard Mice will allow reinforcements to arrive. According to the King’s scouts, SUPER|brie+ is known to attract more Crimson Commanders and less Caravan Guards.
Within the fourth and final wave is their leader, a Warmonger Mouse. Be warned that although the Warmonger Mouse can be encountered at any time during this wave, they will be immune to capture until you have defeated all of the Theurgy Warden Mice that guard them. When you succeed in catching a Warmonger Mouse, the rewards will be great. However, after capturing your first, the Warmongers will be keen to your threat and will guard their loot more closely.
Best of luck hunter! No victory is too small and no defeat is too great. One mouse or one hunter could turn the tide of the war. Gnawnia needs to you succeed!
New Mice
There are 19 new mice in the Fiery Warpath that a hunter won’t have encountered before, none of these mice can be found in other locations.

You can use any of the purchased cheese in this location.
Super Brie not only has the advantage of more attractions to increase streaks, but also of attracting more Crimson Commanders and less Caravan Guards, allowing you to progress from one wave to the next much sooner.
Setup Options
We currently do not have enough results for Setup Options.
Goals
Here is a selection of Goals that a hunter may like to achieve:
Catching in Streaks
One of the most important new mechanics to understand in this location is that of catching mice in streaks.
If you catch 3 mice in a row of the same type you will receive a notification in your journal informing you that 2 additional mice of that type have retreated.
As your streak goes higher, the reward increases, with 4 additional mice retreating at a streak of 6 and 6 additional mice retreating at a streak of 9.
Obviously this means that catching in streaks can significantly reduce the time spent in each wave, reaching a streak of 9 results in 21 mice of one type being removed from the wave.
Failing to catch a mouse, encountering a different type of mouse or failing to attract a mouse all result in a streak being broken.
Streaks can be obtained during the course of normal hunting, but they are unlikely to be very high. Fortunately there are some things that can be done to improve your chances of streaks.
Using a cheese with a higher attraction rate will avoid Failures to Attract that could break your streak.
Warpath Charms can be purchased from the charm shop in this location. They increase the chances of you attracting a mouse of the type matching the charm, arming these can help you build larger streaks.
Super Warpath Charms can also be purchased (but require Magic Essence). These charms increase the chances of you attracting a mouse of the type matching the charm even more than the regular charm, and they also add a further 50% power bonus to your trap to aid in catching the mice.
Streaks also have two other effects. Catching a Crimson Commander will remove a number of mice equal to your current streak from all remaining mice in the wave. Even better than streaks themselves this can be used to dramatically reduce the time spent in a wave.
Upon reaching a streak of 7 the Gargantuamouse will be released into the area. This mouse becomes more common as your streak gets higher.
Hunting in Wave 1
Upon entering the Fiery Warpath you will be confronted with the first wave of mice.
There are only three mice in the wave, an archer, a scout and a warrior. The best power type of trap to use is Physical.
Ideally hunters should have either the Enraged RhinoBot, or a limited edition Physical trap like the Chrome DrillBot.
While not essential for this wave, charms should significantly reduce the time taken here. This is also the easiest location to build streaks up in order to attract a Gargantuamouse.
Hunting in Wave 2
Wave two also has an archer, a scout and a warrior mouse, but also includes a cavalry and a mage mouse.
The best type of trap to use against the Flame Archer, Sentinel and Flame Warrior mice is a Physical trap. Tactical traps are best against the Sand Cavalry Mice. Hydro traps are best against the Inferno Mage Mice.
Charms offer more benefit in this wave, although are still not required. If not using charms it is advised hunters arm their best Physical trap.
Using Charms to target certain mice allows you to arm the most appropriate trap type.
The Sand Cavalry and Inferno Mage mice drop loot that can be used in crafting Cavalry and Mage Charms.
Hunting in Wave 3
Wave three contains the same five types of mice as Wave two, but also adds the Flame Ordnance mice.
Flame Ordnance mice are weakest against Arcane traps.
The same strategy for Wave two applies here, use of charms is not essential, but offers significant benefits.
With 6 types of mice in this wave catching a Crimson Commander offers the greatest benefit on this wave.
Hunting in Wave 4
Wave four has no support mice and only includes two mice.
The Theurgy Warden protects the Warmonger until all 12 have been caught. No streaks apply in this wave.
Once all 12 Theurgy Wardens have been caught the Warmonger is now able to be caught. It can be encountered before this but not caught.
A Physical trap is the best type to use for this wave.
Catching the Warmonger resets the location and moves you to Wave one again. You will also be awarded one Warpath Victory which is a requirement for crafting the three new traps available in this location.
The Warmonger drops one loot item for crafting a new trap the first time you catch it. Other items may be dropped by later Warmongers you catch, however if they do not drop a loot item they appear to drop Simple Orbs instead.
Using Charms
There are 9 new charms specifically for use in this location.
2 charms for each of the Archer, Scout and Warrior mice can be purchased from the Charm Shoppe.
2 charms for each of the Cavalry and Mage mice can be crafted using loot obtained from those mice in Waves 2 and 3.
The Crimson Commander Charm is awarded upon successfully completing Waves 1, 2 and 3.
Charms are not essential, but they offer significant benefits for building streaks and catching the right mice.
If you use charms to catch all of certain types of mice in a wave, there will be little benefit in arming regular charms to target the last remaining mouse of the Wave. Obviously Super Charms offer a power bonus which can help with the final mouse.
Commander’s Charms can be employed to greatest effect on Wave 3. However this is the hardest wave to build streaks on, so hunters may consider using them on Wave 2 instead.
Catching the Gargantuamouse
Upon reaching a streak of 7 the Gargantuamouse will be released into the Wave. As the streak grows the chances of encountering the Gargantuamouse increases.
There is no way to know exactly when a Gargantuamouse will appear. Some people have noticed that the Effectiveness rating under a trap changes to Mild around streak 8, this is just a by product of the population of the Gargantuamouse increasing, it does not guarantee an attraction.
At streak 8 the Gargantuamouse is encountered roughly about half the time, while at streak 9 it encountered most of the time. Streaks of 10 and above are possible but rare.
Once you feel you are ready to hunt for the Gargantuamouse, arm the Ice Maiden as this mouse is weakest against the Draconic power type.
Hunter’s may like to also arm a Commander’s Charm at this point. Crimson Commanders are also weak against Draconic traps, and either catching the Gargantuamouse or the Crimson Commander can offer benefits.

Thank you to all who have contributed so far and will do so in the future.
This article contains information relevant to MouseHunt v3.1.26438.

Looking good. You might want to group the mice into their respective waves. You will undoubtedly want to put a “Hunting With Charms vs. Not” section in there; I tried hunting without for a while… what horrible mess! =]
I noted that a few of the charms are showing as costing 100, but refunding for 240. I am not a Baron yet, but i am pretty sure these are reversed accidentally.
A good start overall. Thank you for the hard work!
The cost of those charms you mentioned cost 100 gold + 1 Magic Essence.
This has been corrected, they actually refund for 120.
An easy way for you to sell SB+ at 20gpp!
Sounds legit
Can all of those special event cheeses really be used?!? Awesome… i need to shed some unused cheese if this is true.
They can be, but we don’t know how well they’ll do right now.
If you do use some please let us know the results!
I’m pondering doing waves 2 & 3 *without* type-specific charms, & using a luck charm instead (with chrome deathbot/magma/shield/gouda). All the charm does is a) get you to the next wave quicker, and b) gives a chance to get the Gargantuamouse. So I’d spend more time catching W2&3 mice, and proportionately less on W1&4.
Any thoughts on whether this is a good idea or a bad idea?
Without using charms you don’t have to worry about changing your setup and this works very well for people who are intending to play passively.
As you say, it won’t be as quick, and you might miss a few more of the mice that benefit from using the right trap type, but if you’re happy with that trade off go for it!
I’ve been using brie and no charms. Regular charms are pretty hit and miss and not worth bothering with imo. Super charms and sb seem to be a hit but cost a fortune. Brie seems pretty good value. Certainly not much worse than gouda at a much lower price.
You didn’t give us any information about Flame Ordnance mice… I am currently stuggling with 3rd wave. and here i a tip for others: in 1st wave, use sb+ and charm for mouse that you are trying to catch (not super charms). after catching all mice from one kind, use gouda and charm for second. after that there will be ony one type so you are free to use any cheese/charm. and for 2nd wave, my reccomendation is:
1. super warrior charm/gouda
2. archer charm/sb+
3. sentinel charm/gouda
4. super mage charm/sb+ (super charm is only about 22% more expensive than non-super one. and using this strategy you should catch all mages in just a few hunts. it took me 15.)
5. since there are most cavalry mice, leave them for end, and use any cheese/charm for them
p.s. as i could see strength of mice grows more you catch them (e.g. at start cavlary were in challenging tab, and last few were in difficult) *not confirmed infornmation*
p.p.s. hope this helps someone
my experience with waves 3 and 4 coming as soon as i beat them
wish me luck!
last time ive caught gargantua ive got 6 flameshards. please correct it
You are missing “Commander’s Charms” from the Warmonger’s Loot, i think he drops 1-2 Commander’s Charms sometimes, i personally got 2 from him on 1 out of 4 catches so far.
It’s quite easy to create a tool telling you which trap setup you should use, I have one in Excel which I can email you if you want (Currently only inputed Wave 3, but it doesn’t really matter).
I use Excel, and the tool has the catch percentage for each mouse from each setup, with the best trap I have (Chillbot+Magma, Rewers+Magma, Double Diamond + Magma, Arcane Burst + Magma, with/without the charms).
Then I multiply catch percentage by the mouse percentage of the population, without the support mice, and assuming all are equal. Then I sum all of these.
The result is estimated catch % of attracted mice for each setup, which changes as the respective populations change, and which tells me which trap to setup. Currently it seems that the Hydro traps offer very little over the Physical trap, so it sits out for the most part.
Does the wave reset when you leave? That is, if you are at Wave 3 and leave to some other location, when you return, will you start at Wave 1 again?
No, nothing resets. You will even maintain your streak.
Anyone got any advice on how to get the Sandtail Call To Arms? How long does it take? Am I looking for a particular mouse? What setup should I use?
Got it already! Puddlemancer with Enragebot/CCB/Gouda/LGS
Any word yet on the best bases to use in each wave? Thanks!
So far I’ve used the following charms:
Warpath Warrior x1. Caught an Archer
Warpath Archer x1. Caught a Vanguard
Changed to Warpath Scout now. I’m guessing I’ll catch a Soldier!
LOL. I hope their effectiveness improves.
Wondering what will happen if you use the Dragonbane Charm against the Gargantuamouse. Can anyone confirm it will make chances much easier to catch one?
It wont affect the catch rates , you can check it on the catch rate estimates on furoma.com
I was wondering how long until we could have some actual hunt data from this area?
I am currently doing my third run in Fiery Warpath. For the first two I used Gouda. For this one I decided to try out Brie. And it has worked at least nearly as well as Gouda. Do others have similar experiences?
My biased observations it looks like the difference between Gouda and Brie is even so small that I’m leaning towards quitting the expensive Gouda use here altogether. It might also be that event cheese would work just fine here.
I’ve tried Mozzarella cheese in L4 with some success as follows.
Setup: Enragebot/Tiki/Luck/Moz/LGS
Gold (net): -11414
Points (net): 847563
Mozzarella Cheese used: 241 (186 stolen)
Luck Charms: 52
Hunts: 55
Theurgy Wardens: 12
Simple Orbs: 22
Fire Shards: 36
Red Boxes: 23
Stale: 7
Cheese eaten: 7
FTA: 6
I think it’s worth it. I’m using a super rotten charm for the Warmonger now but still Mozzarella. It’s free (but cost me a few gold in steals)!
Super rotten charm is not consumed on encounter, it is consumed every turn! The wiki is wrong. I have gone back to SB+ for the Warmonger.
Setup i used well for Flame Ordnance Mouse in Wave 4 is:
ACRONYM/Tiki/SB+/Dark Chocolate Charm/LGS
Only needed 5 and got 3 in a row (the streak Killing off the other 2).
Has anyone looked at the profitability of the Fiery Warpath for earning gold per hunt now that the price of flameshards has gone up immensely?
Good idea, something on the to do list.
Hi, I was thinking about the costs for the Blueprints in the Fiery Warpath, and I wanted to ask you if I have to catch 5 Warmonger(6 if I want to go to the next area) if I want to craft all of the three weapons, or if I have to catch only 3 Warmonger. Thank you very much
Only 3, you don’t use up your victories by buying blueprints.
I was choosing between the ragebot and chillbot and i have the choices of sbb or magma.
Intuitively, I expect ragebot/sbb to be the strongest physical set up. but the catch estimate tool revealed that chillbot/magma is a better set up.
I am not sure how reliable the catch estimate is. So I wish to find out if you know which is a better set up.
For Wave 1 the charms worked well, but for wave 2, it seems pretty random or rather that the improvement in specificity is low. The extra work in changing charms every few catches is getting old. And to get the streaks with super charms and superbrie means spending at least 12k per hunt.
hey, can i use cheddar cheese?
Yes, but the attraction rate is low so you won’t be building any streaks with it!
