Harbour

Harbour

Full of fresh air and plenty of sunshine, the Harbour seems to attract the types of mice who boast of sea salt in their veins.

Overview

The Harbour is a good place for newer hunters to earn gold as it has a reasonable number of Pirate mice, that, while tough to catch, offer a great gold return for the hunter.
The Harbour also contains the first of the map pieces that a hunter can collect: the Granite mouse drops the map to the Calm Clearing, the first location in a new region, Whisker Woods.
The Harbour is the first location where a hunter can purchase crafting supplies, which allow a hunter to craft their first new cheese, White Cheddar. Also on offer are the Dehydration Blueprints, which will allow a hunter to craft a new base once they have collected all the required items.
A hunter will want to use their best physical trap in this location, and a cheese such as Swiss offers good returns. A hunter may also try out White Cheddar in this location, since when it’s used with the Wooden Base with Target this can offer some excellent gold returns.

Requirements

To hunt in the Harbour a Hunter must have:
A Hunter’s Title of at least Initiate.
And it is recommended that a Hunter should have:
At least the Mouse Mary O’Nette and Wooden Base with Target, but preferably a stronger Weapon and/or Base.
    At least Marble Cheese.

Hunting Tips by Larry

Welcome to the Harbour, MouseHunter! The cool breeze coming in from the ocean feels great, doesn’t it?

The mice of this area are a little more tenacious than those found in Town of Gnawnia or the Meadow. Be warned that should you fail to catch a mouse, they may steal some of your points or gold!

If you need to upgrade your trap or purchase more cheese, you will have to travel back to town to visit the shops there. May I recommend a Rocketine trap or Mouse Trebuchet?

Be on the look out for a particularly crafty Granite mouse that has been rumoured to be carrying a torn piece of the map. Should you find this mouse and obtain the map piece, it will be added to your map, adding a new hunting location!

When you reach the next title of Journeyman, you’ll be able to move to another hunting ground. View your map to see what locations you have discovered.

Happy hunting!

New Mice

There are 2 new mice in the Harbour that a hunter won’t have encountered before, but both of these mice can be found in other locations.

Shops

The Harbour contains two shops: a General Store and a Cartographer.

General Store

The General Store of the Harbour contains a small selection of crafting supplies for use in cheese, and blueprints for a new base.

Supply Cost Refund
Curds and Whey
Curds and whey are a common ingredient in a variety of cheese flavours. Elaborate flavours often require a greater quantity than more basic flavours.

Dehydration Base Blueprints
These blueprints are required to craft the crude, yet effective, Dehydration Base from four splintered wood and over 200 salt. Although the salty base does not have the most power, it is well suited for keeping bait fresh.
22,330 22,330
Salt
Gnawnia salt is collected from the seawater around the Harbour where it is known for its magical cleanliness. Salt is a very common ingredient used in a variety of cheese flavours.

Cartographer

The Cartographer of the Harbour can craft a map piece to gain access to the King’s Gauntlet.

Map Piece Requirements
King’s Gauntlet Floorplan
This floor plan has been commissioned directly by the King of Gnawnia. Below the King’s seal is this note: Vend only to those who show remarkable valour in the name of the royal crown, and its jewels. The Cartographer has been working hard to produce a surplus of floor plans!
Cost: 50,000 gold
Item(s) Required: 1 Crown Jewel
Pickup Time: 1 day

(Please note, results with less than 1,000 hunts submitted have a low level of accuracy and should be used as guidelines only)

Swiss is a good cheese to use in the Harbour and can be quite cost effective.
Super Brie will attract a number of the rarer mice here and is a particular favourite of the Burglar, however the Scruffy mouse does not seem too keen on Super Brie in this location.

Goals

Here is a selection of Goals that a hunter may like to achieve:

Catch a Granite Mouse with the Map

In the Harbour the Granite Mouse drops the first map piece available to you as loot; there’s no special technique to catching this mouse, or special cheese to use.
Fortunately, the Granite Mouse is fairly common and not difficult to catch, so just hunt as you would normally and you’ll pick the map up sooner or later.

Curds and Whey were also bumped up to 12 Gold.

  2. White Cheddar Cheese has GREAT profit and very easy to get. I suggest Swiss Army and Explosive as your setup.
