S.S. Huntington II
This fine vessel has been granted permission by the King to sail the open ocean east of Gnawnia. Who knows what exotic hunting grounds are out there just waiting to be discovered..?
Overview
The S.S. Huntington II sails out on the open seas and is home to a number of new mice that drop loot used to gain access to the Tribal Isles.
This location offers the first opportunity for a hunter to purchase a Hydro Weapon.
Requirements
To hunt in the S.S. Huntington II a Hunter must have:
A Hunter’s Title of at least
Legendary.
Have crafted the S.S. Huntington II.
And it is recommended that a Hunter should have:
At least a decent Physical Weapon.
At least Brie cheese.
Hunting Tips by Larry
Welcome aboard, MouseHunter!
What a lovely job you did constructing this vessel. . . it’s a pity that it’s overrun with mice already.
If you want to clean up a bit, you should know that many of the mice here live in the open water. As such, you will find them especially weak to Hydro traps, which you can buy from the Trapsmith onboard.
If you’re looking to sail far off into the ocean, you’ll need to build yourself an Ocean Navigation Kit. I’m sure some of the mice here will have stolen the necessary components at some point or other…
New Mice
There are 13 new mice in the S.S. Huntington II that a hunter won’t have encountered before, most of these mice can only be found in this location.

Mice Populations
We currently do not have enough results for Mice Populations.
Brie would appear to a good all round choice in this location, gold returns are quite low so other cheese are not as cost effective.
Setup Options
We currently do not have enough results for Setup Options.
Goals
Here is a selection of Goals that a hunter may like to achieve:
Catch the three mice with the parts to the Ocean Navigation Kit
There are three mice which drop loot that enable you to craft the Navigation Kit:
Bottled Mouse
The Bottled Mouse is a fairly common and moderately powered mouse that drops the compass.
A Hydro trap armed with any cheese should enable you to catch this mouse fairly quickly.
Captain Mouse
The Captain Mouse is a fairly common but tough mouse that drops the telescope.
Hunters will probably have to wait a while to catch this mouse.
Shipwrecked Mouse
The Shipwrecked Mouse is a common and relatively weak mouse that drops the sextant.
This mouse is the weakest and most common of the three, but the time you have caught the other two mice you probably will have caught this mouse as well. If not, just keep hunting for a little longer.
If you are having trouble attracting any of these mice, Super Brie cheese should increase your attraction rates.
Catch a Cook Mouse
Normally, you won’t even see this mouse unless you use Super Brie, and if you do, you’re very, very lucky.
However, after arming Super Brie this becomes a relatively common mouse to encounter, so just keep using Super Brie until you attract one.
Catch a Shelder Mouse
This mouse is the bane of many a hunter, and if you do decide to hunt for this one, expect days or possibly weeks of frustration.
Because this mouse is so rare a lot of myths regarding how to attract it have arisen. Some of these were proven methods in version 2, but now do not work in version 3.
At the moment it seems that Brie is as good as any of the more expensive cheese in attracting this mouse. But even then you could be looking at using hundreds of pieces before you do finally encounter one.
Fortunately, once you do encounter it you should be able to catch it with a hydro trap and decent base – don’t be tempted to switch to a non-hydro weapon with higher attraction.
Apart from that the only advice left is patience. Good luck with this difficult task.

Thank you to all who have contributed so far and will do so in the future.
This article contains information relevant to MouseHunt v3.

Nice, detailed article.
When comparing trap setups to mice difficulty I get “overpowering” with Ambush/CC for the Captain Mouse, but “Challenging” with CCT/CC. This makes it seem like a physical trap is better than a tactical trap. Is the effectiveness bonus not factored in on mice diffifulty descriptions? I wouldn’t think the bit extra luck of CCT could overcome the bonus for using Ambush to catch the Captain.
The effectiveness bonus is factored in.
The Captain is now part of the Aquatic order, which is a bonus for Hydro traps, but not Tactical traps.
Ah, thanks Paul. I was using the advice in “Goals” to catch a Captain which advises hunters to use their best tactical trap. Guess that needs updating. Also in the list above the Captain, Pirate, Buccaneer, Briegull, and maybe Water Nymph should all be Hydro types instead of Tactical?
Yes, unfortunately there is a lot of updating that needs to be done.
Hi Paul, is Hope Mouse in Training Ground or S.S. Huntington II now?
I’ve not received confirmation of its current locations, so I’m assuming it hasn’t changed from v2.
Hope Mice were in the Dojo, not the Training Grounds and they should still be in S.S. Huntington II.
“When it was released, it could be found in various locations throughout the kingdom (Bazaar, Calm Clearing, Cape Clawed, Dojo, Great Gnarled Tree, Harbour, Laboratory, Meadow, Mountain, S.S. Huntington II, Town of Digby, and Training Grounds), but was later confined to just Training Grounds. ”
MH wiki says this for hope mouse
As far as Hope Mice go, I’ve caught 1 in the Training Grounds.
Hi Author, may I know when was that?
tactical is only effective agaisnt the captain while hydro is very effective so change the thingo about using tactical, also there’s no Nomad or dwarfs.
gnarled cheese won’t attract mice on the ship.
Hydra can be caught with Brie
Water Nymphs can be caught with Gouda
How much money should we have when we travel from bristle woods for a legendary?
Hi Paul, may I know whether I should buy the net cannon or the harpoon gun? Thanks
Hi Paul, may I know whether I should purchase a net cannon or a harpoon gun? Thanks
If you have the lucky golden shield then I recommend the Net Cannon, if not then the Harpoon Gun.
Fortunately if you decide you don’t like the one you’ve got you can smash it and recraft them. Harpoon Gun can be crafted from the Launcher Parts, Net Cannon can be crafted from the Launcher Parts and Rope.
Oh thanks Paul
Uh Paul, sorry to trouble you but can I ask you another thing: should I craft ACRONYM 1st or buy the harpoon gun? Thanks
I recommend you get the ACRoNYM first. Use in in Bristle Woods and you can earn a nice amount of gold.
While Hydro traps are more useful in the long term, you won’t earn much gold from them.
Ok thanks
i caught shelder with brie
Is it true that 500 gold on harpoon gun can be reduced? By smashing and crafting the net cannon?(without the rope)
You can buy the Net Cannon, smash it and craft the Harpoon Gun, doing it the other way around requires you to collect or buy the Rope.
Thanks, i can buy extra brie cheese with this extra money…
how do i catch a crown collecter
CCM requires SB+ as bait, It is considered indigenous so any trap type should work though use hydro unless you want to miss the other mice a lot.
