Tier 5 (King’s Gauntlet)

Tier 5 (King’s Gauntlet)

This many-storied tower is the King’s personal challenge to MouseHunters everywhere: anyone who can reach the top is among the kingdom’s elite. The King’s Gauntlet works on a tier system, with Hunters advancing to the next floor by hunting with cheese that they collect on the current floor. The Gauntlet is meant as a challenge for hunters of all skill levels, but in order to ascend to the very top, a Hero’s rank will come in handy.

Goals

Here is a selection of Goals that a hunter may like to achieve:

Collecting Gauntlet Potions Tier 6

Tier 5 of the King’s Gauntlet is also known as the “magic floor” and is home to the mice who drop Gauntlet Potions Tier 6 required to progress through this location.

The mice found on Tier 5 are weaker against shadow traps, but can be quite tough against traps of other power types.

Unfortunately there are no high luck Shadow traps, so simply arm your best Shadow Weapon. Your choice of base might be important here, as the base could provide a boost to your luck, and subsequently potion drops.

Thank you to all who have contributed so far and will do so in the future.

This article contains information relevant to MouseHunt v3.

  1. I started this Tier with 550 T5 cheese,
ended with 64 T6 potions, which gave 256 T6 cheese.
    T5/T6 cheese ratio: 46%
    Cheese to potion ratio: 17%

Trap setup: Clockapult of Time + Magma base + shield
    3039 power, attraction bonus 10%, 27 Luck

  2. MongoTheGeek says:

I found I did better on this level using the ACRONYM trap. It still had a reasonable catch rate but it’s high luck gave me many more potions.

  3. Apfelstrudel says:

Here are my stats for Tier 5:

My setup: ACRONYM/Candy Cane Base/active shield

    I started with 150 T5 cheese.
    I got 15 T6 potions = 60 T6 cheese

  4. James Cha says:

    Acronym is the better option

  5. Wierd.. i was hunting with the Acronym for most of the day and no potion drops (also had candy cane base) but i just changed to my shadow trap (Ambrosial Portal) which has no luck and in the first hunt i got a potion… Was it just luck or is there a reason?

  6. Tier5
    Start cheese = 191
    Tier6 Potions drop = 25
Trap setup : Clockapult of Time + Molten Sharpnel
    Shadow Power: 3,142 Luck: 18 Attraction: 10%

  7. John Paul Feehily says:

I am using the Reaper’s perch which surpasses the Clockapult as the strongest shadow trap now. It also gives a better catch rate than Acronym but is 2 lower in luck.
Using the Papyrus, Magma or Dragon Jade (very easy to get in the 2012 Chinese new year event) gives +10 luck.
I have also been using super luck charms for an extra +3 luck, expensive given that the charm costs more than the average gold drop per mouse.
Add the gold shield for donating to get +7 luck.

Trap setup : Reaper’s Perch + Papyrus + super luck charm
    Shadow Power: 4,071 Luck: 36 Attraction: 5%

    Start cheese = 300
    T6 potions dropped = 50
