Tier 8 (King’s Gauntlet)
This many-storied tower is the King’s personal challenge to MouseHunters everywhere: anyone who can reach the top is among the kingdom’s elite. The King’s Gauntlet works on a tier system, with Hunters advancing to the next floor by hunting with cheese that they collect on the current floor. The Gauntlet is meant as a challenge for hunters of all skill levels, but in order to ascend to the very top, a Hero’s rank will come in handy.
Overview
Tier 8 of the King’s Gauntlet – known only as the Eclipse – is a location where a forgotten weapon will be very useful.
This is the final floor of the King’s Gauntlet, with only one mouse to encounter here, your only challenge will be catching it.

To hunt in the King’s Gauntlet – Tier 8 a Hunter must have:
A Hunter’s Title of at least
Initiate.
Have purchased the King’s Gauntlet Floorplan from the Cartographer in the Harbour.
Gauntlet Cheese Tier 8.
And it is recommended that a Hunter should have:
A Forgotten weapon.
New Mice
There is only one new mouse to be found in this location – the Eclipse Mouse. This mouse can only be attracted by Gauntlet Cheese Tier 8.

Goals
Here is a selection of Goals that a hunter may like to achieve:
Catch the Eclipse Mouse
Tier 8 of the King’s Gauntlet is home to the final mouse in this location – the powerful Eclipse Mouse.
The Eclipse Mouse is weakest against forgotten weapons, such as the Ancient Box trap, hunters are advised to pair this with a lucky base.
Despite its power, the Eclipse is very easy to catch with the right setup, high power bases such as the Tribal Base have been known to miss this mouse, so high luck bases are recommended.
This mouse drops some very nice rewards in terms of points and gold.

The problem with eclipse mouse is not in how you catch it, but the journey to getting the tier 8 cheece
So you mean to say…it can be caught easily?
I skipped Kings Gauntlet as i got bored after finishing my tier 6 cheese with no tier 7 loots
yes, it is only effortless with a abt
Getting this cheese necessary to catch the Eclipse is extremely tedious, it took me three runs up and down the gauntlet before I realized that I don’t even have a forgotten trap or a trap with enough power and luck to try and catch it. Advice from me would be to get a forgotten trap (only one in the game so far, the ancient trap box) and get a crapload of tier 2 cheeses, because as you move up the Gauntlet, the total cheese supply you have usually decreases at a 30-40% rate (from my experiences, higher percentage if you have lower drop and catch rates) Assuming my calculations are right and you do have adequate traps to catch all mice you attract, if you start with 200 tier 2, you will only have enough potions for 120-140 tier 3′s, then only 80-100 tier 4′s, 50-70 tier 5′s, 25-45 tier 6′s, 15-30 tier 7, and 10-20 tier 8′s. These numbers are really fudged because I’m being lenient with my calculations. When I actually stated with 200 tier 2, I got stuck on tier 6 with only 10 cheeses of that tier.
Got through the Gauntlet with 100 T2 cheese (lucky to get 1 T8 potion on my last T7 cheese).
Now I have 500 T2 cheese sitting. What a waste of SB.
I got nearly a thousand T2 cheese and counting
I used maybe a thousand or more t2 cheese already. im at tier 6 with 48 cheese. hoping it’s gonna make it… or else im really gonna be fed up with the place… almost as frustrating as trying to get balack. but balack is by far the worst imho.
I started the gauntlet with a run of 2000 Brie cheese (CCT,Candy Base, Shield, no charm) I got about 13 stales and all the rest were caught, this ended me with a little over 1500 T2 cheese (didn’t use SB+ until I was converting T6 or higher potions)
I’m in T7 atm, I only had 72 T7 cheese, I’m almost through them and I haven’t gotten a single T8 potion yet.
I was prepared for the long haul that the gauntlet would be, but this would be very frustrating if I can’t even get a decent amount of Eclipse mice from such a start…
but ah well it’s the nature of the game, I’ll go hunt somewhere else for a break after this run and then try again from the bottom up…
Wow! You’re really cool! I have not even gone to Tier 6 did my cheese used up.
i got a necromancer at first catch and got a tier 8 potion and 3:17 pm – King’s Gauntlet
I sounded the Hunter’s Horn and was successful in the hunt! I caught an 6 oz. Eclipse Mouse worth 379,000 points and 300,000 gold. (btw that time i was only legendary so dont have abt)
I sounded the Hunter’s Horn and was successful in the hunt! I caught an 1 lb. 0 oz. Eclipse Mouse worth 379,000 points and 300,000 gold.
I had 2 tier 8 potions, converted to 2 Gauntlet Cheese Tier 8, used the following trap combination:
* Base: Candy Cane Base
* Weapon: Double Diamond Adventure
* Trap Power: 3,800
Caught Eclipse on my first hunt
I sounded the Hunter’s Horn and was successful in the hunt! I caught an 6 oz. Eclipse Mouse worth 379,000 points and 300,000 gold.
and now I have bagged 41 of those ECLIPSE thru a tiring journey
I am just starting the Gauntlet after Seasonal Garden as I do not have enough points to go to Baron yet.
Just throwing it out there, but do you think that Tier 7 could be like Dracano? As in, to get more Dragon Mice, you need to make up 1 batch of Inferno Cheese (6) at a time instead of as many as you can.
Perhaps only use 1 potion at a time in Tier 7 to increase your Tier 8 loot?
No, the amount of cheese you have doesn’t affect Potions drops in the Gauntlet.
Guys im lucky I finaly caught eclipse mouse!I tried on my 5th time on kings gauntlet with this:weapon swiss army mouse trap. base: explosive base. chesse gauntlet chesse tier 8.
Finally, I reach this Tier OMG
Trap setup : Ancient Box + Molten Sharpnel
Forgotten Power: 5,612 Luck: 12 Attraction: 5%
I have only 1 Tier8 cheese but I still can catch Eclipse anyway.
So, I think that the problem is just to get Tier8 at least one.
Note that the number of cheese in each Tier is not related with the potions dropped since I have stock some from the previous run.
Good luck Hunters!
2:01 am – King’s Gauntlet
I sounded the Hunter’s Horn and was successful in the hunt! I caught an 14 oz. Eclipse Mouse worth 379,000 points and 300,000 gold
2:15 am – King’s Gauntlet
I checked my trap and found that I had caught a mouse! I caught an 7 oz. Eclipse Mouse worth 379,000 points and 300,000 gold.
2:29 am – King’s Gauntlet
I sounded the Hunter’s Horn and was successful in the hunt! I caught an 11 oz. Eclipse Mouse worth 379,000 points and 300,000 gold.
Its the result after I only left 6 piece of Tier 7 cheese:
1:15 am – King’s Gauntlet
I created 3 pieces of Gauntlet Cheese Tier 8 which used 3 SUPER|brie+, 3 Gauntlet Potion Tier 8 and 6,000 gold.
I caught my first eclipse mouse with my first horn blow I only had 6 Tier 8 cheese and got it on first go.
Trap ancient box trap with explosive base golden shield and ultimum luck charm
